The new Wii Fit Plus for Nintendo's Wii console is everything the original Wii Fit should have been.
When Nintendo launched Wii Fit for its gaming console adults looking to slim down and fitness enthusiasts alike rejoiced. A combination of yoga, strength training, and balance games made this appealing to all demographics. Young or old, the whole family could join in, get off the couch, and have some fitness fun. Old Versus New Nintendo has now released the sequel and it is clear that they took the original game’s weaknesses out of the equation. A workout used to consist of clicking each individual exercise then navigating through instructions and warnings as well as the instructor’s comments after. Now, instead of a thirty minute workout lasting 45 minutes, one can actually put together a workout from the start. The game will run you through the workout without the hassle. New FeaturesThere are also pre-prepared workouts. These can be chosen with a particular fitness goal in mind. Choose the figure forming option to do exercises geared towards a slimmer waist creating that hour glass shape. Or, choose the relaxing workout designed to help the user relax in the evening while still burning excess fat. Some of the other prepared workouts include warm-up, burn fat, and one design to help with pains in the joints. Nintendo also added a few more yoga positions, strength training exercises, and many more balancing games. The new multiplayer mode allows for many players to take a turn at running an obstacle course, flying through the air, or skateboarding. The new games seem to be made with real fun in mind. Who doesn’t want to have a snowball fight year round? Or go for a bicycle ride in the dead of winter? New features also include a calorie count and a quicker weigh-in. You can also create characters for your pets and baby. Both will have cameos during the games. One of the better features is that the data acquired on the original game is not lost. All the yoga positions, exercises, and games of the original are also in Wii Fit Plus, including the weight lost (or gained) since owning the original. Once the game retrieves the data from the old Wii fit, it makes the original obsolete. The new game seems more like a plug-in then an actual game. Results Using Wii Fit Plus To get the best results, workout every day. At the very least, weigh in every day. This can help to show how you gain weight, whether it’s from overindulging or a lack of activity. Even better results come from multiple 10 to 15 minute workouts at different intervals throughout the day. Wii Fit Plus does make it easy to track activity level and exercises done outside of the game, as well as calories burned during the game. Wii fit can be bought by itself for around $20.00 at most retail stores. It’s around $100.00 with a Wii Board.
