Alternative Therapies Improve the Over-all Wellness of a Person

Complementary or Alternative Medicine, a non-traditional therapy, is used as a supplement to traditional medicine.

"Complementary therapies" is an umbrella term for a number of different types of treatments and therapies, such as homeopathy, herbal remedies, aromatherapy, acupuncture and yoga. They can also give people a better sense of control over their lives and improve their over all well-being.

  • What is Aromatherapy?

Aromatherapy is one of the most powerful natural healing therapies and oils are selected for your individual needs. Aromatherapy can be used to treat a number of health issues, anti-ageing, and cellulite reduction, improve the immune system, relieve aches and pains and ease certain digestive ailments and skin problems.

  • Homeopathy is a Complementary Therapy

Homeopathy has been widely used throughout the world for more than 200 years. In 2000, the House of Lords’ Select Committee on Science & Technology cited homeopathy as one of the five Group One therapies, having “an individual diagnostic approach” along with osteopathy, chiropractic, herbal medicine and acupuncture.

  • Herbal Supplements

Herbs are the basis of some modern drugs: for example, quinine came from cinchona bark, digitalis from the foxglove, and aspirin from willow bark.

  • What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is claimed to be an ancient system of healing developed over thousands of years as part of the traditional medicine of China. The aim of the treatment is to restore the balance of the universal energy Qi (pronounced chee) in the body, through the painless application of fine needles into strategic points on the body. Qi consists of Yin and Yang and these two opposite, but complementary, forces need to be in balance otherwise disease or illness occurs in the body.

  • What is Yoga?

Yoga is an Indian spiritual path aimed at achieving the union with the Supreme Consciousness. A practitioner of Yoga is called a Yogi (male) or Yogini (female). The majority of practitioners of yoga outside India are primarily interested in improving health and fitness. The ultimate goals may range from reaching Moksha to physical immortality.

While traditional medical treatment addresses the body’s physical needs, emotional concerns are sometimes left untended. Stress builds. Tension mounts. And the body reacts in ways that are not conducive to healing.

For thousands of years, people have turned to practices such as tai chi and meditation to help them achieve a spirit of well-being. While complementary therapies don’t heal disease — and should never be considered an alternative to traditional medical treatment — they can alleviate symptoms and promote an overall sense of wellness.

  • Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy is the best complementary therapy because hypnosis affects people at every level including psychological, physiological, emotional, and even spiritual. And really, only hypnotherapy has the power to do that.

It allows you to work on specific problems one by one, but at the same time, it can improve your overall health and well-being in several areas concurrently. Some people seek hypnotherapy to address a specific area while others seek the overall benefits of hypnosis on a regular, ongoing basis. Many people use hypnosis alone while others supplement it with other forms of therapy.

Hypnosis can complement either or both of those treatments, because hypnosis has the power to affect all those areas in a positive way. So in complement to your physical therapy, it can help you cope on an emotional level with the strain of the injury.

very wel written article, i have learnt alot and i wil try the herbs as i have mild arthiritus
